Introduction & Purpose

This module helps the learner to discover the sustainability aspects in their profession and the first P2S possibilities ideas.

It has 4 steps:

• Introduction into the module
  
• Mini tutorial on how to use the EduBot & EduBot 2: “Change explorer”
  
• Reflection questionnaire 
• Wrap up

💡 Before leading your class, please:

• Go through Module 2 yourself once, including the EduBot and reflection questionnaire, so you know what learners will see.
  
• Decide how you will run it: more individual (computers/phones) or more whole class (shared screen).
  
• Adjust timing: the whole module takes about 35-50 minutes.

Timing Guide 

• Introduction text – 1-2 min
• EduBot tutorial video – 1 min
• Conversation with the EduBot – 15 mins + 10-15 min. post Bot discussion
• Post-chat-activity: Reflection questionnaire – 7-15 mins
• Outro after the module – 1-2 min

 👉 Total: 35-50 minutes

Tips for Teachers

• Be a facilitator, not an expert
  You don’t need to know neither all sustainability issues or opportunities, nor possibilities of P2S to all sectors and fields of work. Push them to explore all the opportunities through the EduBot and open questions that would incite reflection. 
  
• Normalize the “we already do this” reaction
  Many learners will say: “We already rent this” or “We already refurbish this.” Acknowledge this positively:
  “Yes, many professions already use the product-as-a-service approach. This module helps to explore new good practices we can adopt to be innovators in the sector and spot new opportunities.”
• Handle skepticism gently
  Some may find P2S too complicated.

Respond:

“Not every sector is 100% open for agile adoption of the P2S approach. But we can use creative thinking to be innovative. When we change perspective, we see more possibilities.”

• Support digital confidence
  Some learners may hesitate with EduBot. Encourage them to chat with the EduBot as if it were a normal human being, even if it is hard to envision.

🔸 Scenario A: Individual work on computers 

(online/self-paced in class) 

• Introduction into the module

• Open the course and present the introduction text to module 2 paraphrasing it: 

In this module, you’ll meet Change Explorer. An Edubot that will help you discover how your profession can lead the way toward a more sustainable future. This interactive EduBot helps you explore the reasons behind change in your industry, connect your daily work to global sustainability challenges, and introduces new ways of thinking about value, such as turning products into services.

• EduBot tutorial video & EduBot Activity “Change Explorer”

• Direct students for personal work with the EduBot on their computers. 

• Suggest to view tutorial video if they feel it would help them understand better how to use the EduBot, or directly guide them to the chat with the EduBot.

• • • Give 15 minutes for the whole process.
    • When everyone finishes the conversation with the EduBot, invite them for a short reflective discussion by asking (10 min.):

• What sustainability challenges in your profession did you identify during the conversation?

• Did anything surprise you about the P2S model and how it could work in your profession?

• Post-bot reflection questionnaire 

• • • After the discussion, encourage students to work individually on the short post-Edubot reflection activity template. This will help them think a little deeper on their mini pilot, they began forming in the EduBot, strengthening the potential for trying these mini pilots. 

• Outro of the module

• • Finish the module by summarising what was learnt and what is waiting in the next modules:

🔸 Scenario B: Class work in-person 

(shared screen, group facilitation, phones)

• Introduction into the module

• • The teacher shows the introduction text in the module 2 webpage on screen and  reads it or paraphrases:

In this module, you’ll meet Change Explorer. An Edubot that will help you discover how your profession can lead the way toward a more sustainable future. This interactive EduBot helps you explore the reasons behind change in your industry, connect your daily work to global sustainability challenges, and introduces new ways of thinking about value, such as turning products into services.

• EduBot tutorial video & EduBot Activity “Change Explorer”

• If you feel that your students are lacking digital skills and it may be difficult for them to understand how to use the EduBot, play the short tutorial video on the screen. 

• • • You may say that “The bot will ask about your profession and will guide you through unsustainable practices, as well as P2S ideas in your field. You will be an active participant in this learning. If something is not clear, you can ask EduBot to repeat or explain in other words – use it as any other chat!”

• EduBot 1: “Change Explorer”

• • • Direct students to the module’s webpage via their phones in order to chat with the EduBot.
    • When everyone finishes the conversation with the EduBot, invite them for a short reflective discussion by asking (15 min):

• What sustainability challenges in your profession did you identify during the conversation?

• What mini piloting ideas did you come up with?

• Did anything surprise you about the P2S model and how it could work in your profession?

• Post-bot reflection questionnaire 

• • • Group participants in pairs according to similar piloting ideas just shared.
    • Direct them to the questionnaire on the website e-training course. 
    • Ask students to fill out the template while discussing in a way continuing their EduBot conversation ideas in order to strengthen the thinking about this mini piloting. 

• Outro of the module

• • Finish the module by summarising what was learnt and what is waiting in the next modules:
